    I am sure that anyone can make anyone look negative if they wanted to.

    Even my dad, who is a lifelong Republican, called McCain’s gimmick the “cheapest political move in modern history”. It’s not putting a negative spin on anything, it’s calling a desperate ploy exactly that. The man is unfit to lead. Worst candidate since George W. Bush, and that’s saying a lot.

    liberalism; the problem to every solution;
    the haunting fear that someone, somewhere
    can help themselves.

    actually, thats not saying too much. He is the only republican candidate since Bush. Maybe you could say that Kerry and Obama are better than him, but thats not saying much either.

    Conservatism: The desperate clinging to a belief that good luck equals ability, often accompanied by confusion over the difference between colon and semicolon.

    american politics; rather than talking about solutions;
    generalizations about the Other Side,
    so you don’t have to think for yourself.

    @firemanjohn: Nope, that a NeoCon’s definition. Liberalism could better be defined as; The belief that someone, somewhere has solutions for every problem. That’s why they’re open to more ideas.

    raven;
    the liberal dems are notorious for demonizing,
    degrading and character assassination. for liberals,
    it’s been personalities over principles for decades.
    catchy slogans are cute, but all I hear is talk of change
    with no viable plan to implement it.
    liberalism is a dying philosophy, fueled by wealthy folks
    who love to give away money, housing and fake moral support
    to people they isolate and insulate themselves from.
    it’s called NIMBY (not in my back yard)e.g.,kennedy, striesand, kerry etc.

    @Raven:

    Doing the same thing.
    So think already. I think. I think I’ll have a drink. Would you like to join me? If you’re a liberal, substitute “joint” for “drink”.

    That all sounds very familiar; lets see; demonizing::he’s a muslim, degrading::and a socialist; personalities::Sarah Palin; over principals::Patriot Act. Slogans::For us or against us; talk with no substance::I can see Russia from my house!; no plan::the economic fundamentals are strong.

    “Conservatism is a dying philosophy, fueled by wealthy folks who love to give away money, favors, and support to people they are friends with so they can all get richer all the while using hot button social issues on simple minded and poor bigoted people to keep them in power.
    it’s called YSMBISY (you scratch my back I scratch yours)e.g., bush, dobson, cheney, etc”

    I don’t care who or what you are, but it seems most people pigeonhole themselves into these stupid labels and then stereotype everyone based on them, like they know someone or something. Grow up people, you are not your political affiliation. Americans have so many choices in life, from the car they buy, to the career they choose, but refuse to treat themselves to any decent political choices, and leave themselves with two, TWO very pathetic choices. Free market? Choice breeds competitiveness? GET REAL AMERICA. Flip the coin this election ya bunch of losers, I’m calling Obama.

    The real irony is using spin to castigate someone over spinning..lol

    Nice work you fucking idiot

    Don’t be a Republican. They are self-dealing crooks with no sense of honor or patriotism to their fellow citizens. If you must be a Republican, don’t be a “conservative.” They are whining, bitching, complaining, simple-minded self-righteous idiots who think they’re perpetual victims. Listen to talk radio for a while, you’ll see what I mean.

    @firemanjohn:
    I love how you respond to the accusation of making generalizations demonizing the other side by doing so even more flagrantly than before. I almost envy how you live in a world that’s conveniently black and white rather than the real world that is so much more complicated and difficult.

    A conservative is a man who is too cowardly to fight and too fat to run.
    [ Elbert Hubbard ]

    All conservatives are such from personal defects. They have been effeminated by position or nature… and can only, like invalids, act on the defensive.
    [ Emerson ]

    Advance or decadence are the only choices offered to mankind. The pure conservative is fighting against the essence of the universe.
    [ Alfred North Whitehead ]

    Any man who is under 30, and is not a liberal, has not heart; and any man who is over 30, and is not a conservative, has no brains.
    [ Winston Churchill ]

    Yeah, just now I fear that Wall St is helping themselves to quite a bit.

    Grow up, I’m a conservative and the Republicans have lost it. Obama is prudent, a student of the Federalist papers. WTF is McCain and that “Russian” chick Palin?? Republicans for decades have spent more AND they tax more. What? You don’t believe a lower currency a huge budget deficit and this bailout aren’t coming out of your wealth? I’d rather be taxed more up front than lose it due to this kind of cronyism on the sly.

    Republicans have their hands in my front and back pockets now. They need to lose big time and then maybe something will come back. They are total con jobs right now.

    @Firemanjohn

    Anyone who supports the Republican party (I won’t say conservative movement because that can mean so many things) today is either woefully ignorant of how they’ve looted and degraded this country or someone who’s been doing the looting and degrading.

    Wrecked our economy? Check
    Pissed all over the constitution? Check
    Started a pointless war? Check
    Used said pointless war to enrich friends? Check
    Diluted the value of our currency to the point where other countries are moving away from it? Check

    You can just go on and on like that.

    That’s a great cop out, but it just isn’t true.

    The Republican party is responsible for pushing for the deregulation of financial markets. This has been a piece of the party platform for decades, so don’t even bother denying it.

    President Bush is responsible for his executive branch warrantless wiretapping program. This is something congress as a whole didn’t even know about for at least a year after it’s inception.

    President Bush and his cabinet personally pushed the Iraq war, ignoring evidence from the CIA that disproved their claims.

    And all of this happened during a time in which the Republicans controlled congress.
